To ensure individuals with colorblindness or low visual acuity are able to access the Tuva Tools, we've added functionality to allow you to change the colors for the Tuva Tools.
This new feature allows you to increase contrast by changing the color theme setting, which will change the foreground, background, and text colors. However, changing the color theme will not update the colors associated with the data points. For that, you'll need to update the Data Colors. By changing the Data Colors, the data points can be changed to accommodate colorblindness.
Continue reading for instructions on how to change the color settings for the Tuva Tools.
To update the color theme, hover over (or click) the Settings menu then hover over (or click) the Color Theme option to show the list of color themes.
Selecting one of the available color themes will update your screen to one of the below: Default, Yellow on Blue, Reverse Contrast, and Black on Rose.
The Tuva Tools also provide colorblind friendly options for the data colors. To access these settings, hover over (or click) the settings menu then hover over (or click) the Data Colors option to reveal the list of data colors.
Selecting one of the available data colors will update the colors of the categorical attributes. If there's already a categorical attribute applied to the cases in the plot, you'll see those colors update as well. Currently, the Tuva Tools offers Standard, Colorblind Safe, and Grayscale.
