If you don’t have access to computers for student use don’t worry, there are still plenty of ways to use Tuva to teach data literacy in your classroom. Here are some suggestions:
- Print out the Tuva lessons and project the website from your computer. Go through the lesson as a class, having students discuss their responses. Consider incorporating a discourse strategy.
- Use a Tuva data set as a warm-up to introduce a topic to your class. Show your students a data set and have them formulate some questions. Use these questions to guide the class or create an inquiry experience
- Collect student data using the teacher computer. Upload the data to Tuva and use it to lead a discussion on the results of their investigation
- While students are working on an independent or small group assignment, call groups up to work through a Tuva data set with you
